  • yup, i'm baaaaack

hopefully, it'll be for a long time, too. we just had the internet reconnected, today, so i've spent a long time deleting old emails that would be a waste of time to reply to. i had 167 emails waiting for em when i logged on, 167 that have accumulated over a period of four or so months. huh. that's a lot of emails. i gave up trying to respond to the more recent, but not so recent ones, and i just sent a mass email to everyone on my contact list.

i have news for those of you who haven't heard. i am engaged. i have been for nearly six months now. no news yet on when the wedding will be but we know what kinda wedding we want. a nice beach one, sorta casual, sorta fancy - a nice mix of the two.

you're probably wondering (if you're not, i'll tell you anyway, sorry ) who the lucky guy is. Joshuah Buckle. he is my soul mate, the man that God put on this earth for me and only me, and i am so blessed to have found him. he's four years older, working at the slaughterhouse in town (not a desirable job, but one that has to be done), funny, smart, and best of all, perfect.

change of subject. i'm working full time now, permanent. i'm at the newsagency in the mall, and loving it. i've worked in a newsagency before, back in redcliffe, so it was kinda familiar territory for me. it's different this time, i have more responsibility, and i rarelt get stuck with the juniors' jobs. lol.

anywho. that's enough for one day. i hope to hear from people soon. even if it's just to let me know that you people read my site.

thanks, you've been great listeners - or readers, whatever.

    over and out,

    melissa

  • it's been a while

you probably all noticed that i've taken my time in getting back here and writing something more than a boring intro. i'm sorry. i'm back now, though. there's so much to catch you all up on. . .

i'm not studying anymore (i was enrolled in a Diploma of Children's Services). i decided that it wasn't for me, even though i most definietly still enjoy working with kids. i'm volunteering once a week down at the primary school.

i'm still working at the same place, and i'm getting a little bit more responsability. now when a rep comes in, i can help them do the orders. yay. it's not really that exciting, though.

i got a pay rise the other week, coz it was my birthday. yup, i am now an 'adult' in the eyes of the law. don't worry, i'm still young at heart

i had three of my best friends in the whole wide world come out here all the way from Redcliffe to see me for my birthday, which was totally awesome. i had about 20 or so people (including family, coz i'm not that popular ) rock up at my place the weekend after my 18th for a partay. it wasn't so bad, so i was pleased.

i think that's all. there's not really a lot of exciting, edge of your seat enthralling sort of things going on in my life at the moment.

one good thing has happened though. through Josh, i've been able to experience a new church, and make new friends, form new connections and bonds. since i've moved here, i've been going to the AOG in town. with Josh, every couple of weeks, i've been going to the City Christian Church. it's good to be able to sorta broaden my horizons when it comes to church. Josh's isn't that different to mine, but it's different enough that i can appreciate the differences between them, if that makes sense.

i'm pretty sure that's all you've missed. i think. i'll write down anything else that i remember at a later date. it's not like people read my entries anyway, huh?

  • ex-city girl

hey, so i'm kinda new at this so bear with me. um, i guess i'll tell y'all a bit about myself. i've lived in redcliffe, queensland for almost all my life, and then me folks up & went out to nanango, where i can now be found. i've been out here for nearly 2 months now, and i'm starting, slowly, to get used to things. life's a bit slower out here than i'm used to it being, but with the Lord's help, i should be able to adjust. my sister & i have started at a new church, and i guess you could say we've made a few new friends. i think it'll probably take me a while to be 100 % used to everything, but hopefully not too long. i've got work to do on my patience levels.

so that's me. almost. everything you actually need to know right now was just read, by you. i hope y'all don't think i'm too boring, now
